just some thoughts

First of all, needless to say, Disney on Ice was a HUGE hit! The girls LOVED it and Carl and I loved watching their excited faces. They talked about it the whole ride home and all through dinner.

After the ice show, I had to stop by work to give a brief presentation to the student ambassadors (tour guides). As we drove onto campus (on the other side from my office) Alie saw Stevens Hall and proclamed that we were going to "mommy's office". Whenever the girls talk about mommy going to work or to her office, I get this strange sense of pride. I have always been proud to be a working mother, and have not wanted it any other way. I am glad that my daughters see that. As they get older, I hope that they remember visiting "mommy's office" and all of the great work-life balance opportunities my place of business affords us. Obviously, when they are grown and have children, I want them to make decisions that will work best for them, but I am glad to be giving them a positive example of what a working mother can be.
