it is cold

it is cold out here in western maryland and this afternoon, i had to break down and buy a jacket. luckily, i have moved back towards hagerstown and was able to buy a fleece at the outlets for $15. its not my favorite jacket, but not bad for $15. my mom is of course freaking out because they're calling for heavy rain and sleet out here tonight and tomorrow. lucky for me, i don't have to wake up too early since the program i'm attending tomorrow is only 3 minutes away! i can't wait to get home tomorrow...i am really missing my girlies. we had a long chat on the phone tonight and have already made plans for my homecoming! i heard all about the acorn collecting and cookie making that took place at "mom-moms" house today. i heard about the books they are reading at bedtime, and the pjs they are wearing. only one more week of out of town recruiting....

Moving through fall....

I spent most of last week in Frederick and now I am all the way out in western maryland! I have mixed feelings about travelling. I do really enjoy the quiet and the ability to be "lazy" in between my high school visits and fairs, but I miss my girls like crazy. Luckily, my overnight travel is over in just over a week, and then we will be taking our family trip to Disney! In the meanwhile, I am enjoying the fall foliage out here in Garrett county. The leaves are vivid and absolutely beautiful!

The girls have fully adjusted to their school day, and really seem to be loving it. We have our first parent-teacher conference on Friday, so we'll learn even more about what they're learning in their classroom. Their language skills have improved dramatically and are really beginning to grasp letters and numbers. We had a great time on their field trip last week. Laney was able to pet a cow and Alie really loved playing with her friend Renee and checking out the steer and llamas.

We have some other potentially exciting things in the works...more on that as things begin to come together:)

not quite what i was expecting

my busy weekend was in fact busy, but had some unexpected twists along the way. post work on friday, carl and i got all dolled up to head out to spsg's reunion cocktail party. it was quite an event, complete with valet parking (how posh!). i had a wonderful time catching up with the lovely ladies of '99, along with some others, and my girlies were having a wonderful time entertaining alex and josh at home

unfortunately, around 1 am, laney started having trouble breathing and i took her to the emergency room. we were there until after four testing out different ways to calm her croup. poor laney...

saturday morning, i had an am fair and then the fam headed to see the towson game which did not begin....or end well. i opted to stay home that evening instead of head downtown for night 2 of my 10 year reunion because i wanted to keep an eye on my baby girl. instead, we went to panera for one of laney's favorites, a turkey sandwich, chocolate milk and yogurt.

sunday morning i woke up for yet another fair, this time at ind, which was not my favorite to get to. afterwards, i headed home to see yet another disappointing (though much less so) football game. in the evening i headed back to work, this time to speak with the student ambassadors.

although i'm in the office today, i am headed to pa and then frederick for most of the rest of the week. i'm in for some crazy couple of weeks, travel wise. at least i don't have anything planned for this weekend...woohoo!
